Over the past year, the administration of www.newerth.com (http://www.newerth.com) (the primary community website for both Savage's 1 and 2) has been hard at work on a new mod similar to EX2 and SEP that aims to polish Savage and restore it back to what it was four years ago. XR is now near completion!
The feature list for the mod is endless, along with just as many bug fixes and gameplay improvements, most notably a considerably more modern graphical look to the game. And as a former reputable clan in the Savage community, you might be interested in the third season of the Newerth Savage League (NSL).
